Reclaiming BIPOC stories through radically authentic content
Founded by J.J. Anderson and Tito Molina in 2014, HRDWRKER is an award-winning full-service video production company based in Los Angeles, CA.
We founded HRDWRKER after not seeing folks of color authentically represented on screen. Instead of waiting for media to change, we created a platform for the meaningful and impactful stories we wanted to see.
Since then, we’ve worked with trailblazing brands like Ava Duverney’s ARRAY, Shondaland, Studio Museum Harlem, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and Lululemon to produce culturally-rich content that celebrates working class people of color.
Whether it’s a documentary, commercial, or brand video—we’re here to bring your vision to life with the honor, respect, and care that your stories deserve.

Meet our founders
Tito Molina
Tito (he/him) is a Salvadoran cinematographer and editor based in Los Angeles. Tito’s love for telling his community’s stories drove him to spend hours learning to produce, shoot, and edit videos alongside co-founder J.J. Anderson.
As a self-taught filmmaker, Tito is continually looking for ways to innovate on his craft. His most recent project, De Tal Madre, Tal Hija (2020)—a short film that highlights the sacrifices Latinx parents make to provide their children with opportunities to succeed—was shot entirely on an iPhone and honored by the Oaxaca Film Festival.
Through his work, Tito is committed to honoring those who paved the way for him as a Salvadoran immigrant.
J.J. Anderson
J.J. Anderson (she/her) is a self-taught producer and director based in Los Angeles. As a filmmaker, J.J.’s work is rooted in culture, community, and generational rituals. She is dedicated to handling stories with care and attention to produce powerful, authentic, and resonant representations of women and people of color on screen.
Since co-founding HRDWRKER, J.J. has directed content for companies like ANDSCAPE, Phenomenal, Slack, and more. Her films JONAH (2018) and Positive Space (2020)—a groundbreaking short featuring four Black women museum curators in Los Angeles working to reimagine the art world—are now streaming on Amazon Prime and Shondaland.
CREATE. BUILD. GROW.
We believe in the paradigm-shifting power of storytelling, and we strive to use media to educate and to empower our communities. We seek to disrupt the media space by creating content about people of color that is raw, rich, real and that captures the beauty of our everyday lives.
We center the voices, cultures, and experiences of Black and Brown working class people and are dedicated to honoring and uplifting the communities that raised us. We are determined to break barriers by creating opportunities in the film industry for BIPOC folks and are committed to offering accessible resources and mentorship for young creators of color.
What we’re all about
Community
We honor and uplift the working class Black and Brown communities that we grew up in and that paved the way for us to get to where we are today.
Authenticity
With a team led by Black and Brown people, everything we produce is created with love by and for people of color.
Real Opportunity
We’re not about gatekeeping. We’re here to create opportunities in the film industry for people of color and to provide unconditional support and guidance to young creators of color.
Freedom of Expression
No one knows our stories like we do, and as creators, we thrive when we have full trust to tell our own stories.
Healthy Collaboration
We exclusively work with like-minded individuals, brands, and institutions who value our expertise, trust our process, and most importantly, respect us as humans. Our collaborators are open to receiving feedback and education about why we use a human and culture-centered approach in our work.
